
The Portuguese midfielder struck his 17th league goal of the campaign when he let ripped a ferocious free kick after 44 minutes to give his side a 2-0 lead.
Goals from Mesut Ozil and Angel Di Maria sealed three points for Jose Mourinho's troops against rock bottom Zaragoza, who responded via a Gabi's 54th-minute penalty.
"My goal is a sign that the team is working hard," the 25-year-old is quoted as saying by Madrid's official website. "It was one of the best goals of my career.
"We are playing well. I wouldn't have been able to score had my team-mates not provoked the foul. I am pleased. We want to extend this winning streak as long as we can."
"That is when we started to play better. It wasn't an easy match. They started off strong, but [Mesut] Oezil's goal served us well and helped us take control."
Real are just two points off Barcelona, who are showing no signs of slipping up after spanking Real Sociedad 5-0 at the weekend.
