The AFC U-22 Qualifiers of Group D is starting from 2-10 June 2012, only 18 days to go. This is one big tournament that Nepal is organizing and the games will be played in the Dasarath Stadium. The U-22 Championship Finals is to be played from 11-26 Jan 2014. Fourteen Member teams will be playing the finals, two top teams that will be qualified from each group and one best third placed team. The host will get direct entry to the finals.
In Group A: UAE, Iraq, Oman, India, Turkmenistan, Lebanon
In Group B: Saudi Arabia, Syria, Pakistan, Palestine, Palestine, Kyrgyzstan, Sri Lanka
In Group C: Bahrain, IR Iran, Tajikistan, Qatar, Kuwait, Maldives
In Group D: Uzbekistan, Jordan, Yemen, Bangladesh, Nepal
In Group E: Australia, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, Macau, Timor Leste
In Group F: DPR Korea, China PR, Thailand, Hong Kong, Laos, Cambodia
In Group G: Korea Republic, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar, Chinese Taipei, Philippines
Nepal has to be in the top two position in its group to be qualified in the finals of this competition. In its group, there are teams like Uzbekistan, Jordan, Yemen and Bangladesh. Among them, Jordan is the toughest opponent for Nepal. So, it takes tough play to place itself in the finals. Lets hope, the best team paves its way !!
