The victory of first semi final match of the SAFF Championship 2011 has been bestowed upon India. India won the match against Maldives by
3-1 goal score. The match was in favor of India at the beginning of the first half. As a result of which India took a lead against the defending champions of the SAFF Championship. Then after some minutes Maldives also came up with an answer and equalized the game to 1-1. But, the Indians were lucky as they got a Penalty which took them up to the finals. Finally the score turned to be 3-1.
